Thing #9 Technology

Oh...where to begin. I really have several "favorites" -- I will hold off on a couple until we cover them in our class.

I think the one thing that I am most thankful for, technology-wise, is wireless capabilities. To not be tethered to my desk, house, or even city -- to have connectivity in my back yard, hotels, in the park, in the airport, or at a conference is priceless...the benefits go on and on. All you need is an access point. The benefit is not only in Internet access with my laptop, but all kinds of Bluetooth capabilites -- my cellphone, headset phone, Zune, etc.

Also high on my list is Open Source software...but, that is a new "Thing" altogether!

I love reading your blog! Your link connections work great. I had to use the "Blogger helper" that was listed on the mediaclerks20 site to figure out how to insert a link within the blog text. After several attempts, I finally did it! I still need to polish the procedure up a tad to make the wording and links go as smooth as yours.

This wireless technology came in handy for us yesterday. 8 adults met in a restaurant and we are trying to figure out our Costa Rica plans (with 8 children) for Christmas. We had our own laptop with us. We logged in and we were all able to "see" the idea of the other person speaking. It was great. Now, I have to set this whole thing up for my husband, so I may need your help one day! Thanks for sharing your insight always.

Hello, Hello, can you hear me? Myra, is the photo a fabulous use of technology because it is consistent? Do love the wireless connection, have a couple of cool spots at home, but work around those and do so enjoy the freedom. Oh to compute while in my garden, oh joy, oh happiness.

Wow! Sounds like you really know what you're doing and it shows with your blog. Wireless is great although we've been struggling with our laptops in the library for quite a while. I think our tech guys are scratching their heads at this point.

I wish I had more wireless toys. Maybe that could be on my Santa list this year! I do wish with all the traveling we have to do for gymnastics that wireless connectivity in hotels was a little less expensive! It sure helps with the homework!

Thank you for giving us your time. You have so much information to give. I wish that I was a sponge, so that I could remember all of the new ways. I still feel so fuzzy on most of the tasks.

My husband just bought our family a laptop after researching, hooking up a wireless network, etc.! I am so excited to use this wireless technology!
